The End Of Language
 
The End Of Language is a project in development stages that plays upon the narrative and the gaze as two forms of communication and interaction.  While the portraits echo the figures from the Amnesia Suite works, the fragmented story excerpts create glimpses into some personal aspect revealed to the artist from discussions with the subjects.  There is an interplay between the artist and audience which allows the portrait to emerge only if the viewer is at a distance from the image, while the narrative is only available if the viewer moves closer to the image.  These distances are the true subject matter and how the artist debates how and where one is able to discern an intimacy between two people.
 
Concept:  first imagery on this theme was produced for the Los Suenos con los ojos vendados project in Sao Paulo Brazil in 1995, the next evolution was shown for The Sleepless Night / Museo de Arte Moderno Buenos Aires 2000, and continues ongoing to present ...
